I think anyone that talks about cities needs to know how their city works. This book appealed to the engineer in me and reflects what I would like to inject more of in the city conversation - evidence, fact and an appreciation for detail.  Having a clear vision is pivotal, but I think so is intimately knowing the foundation of your city.  The technical details will help understand the essential functions to protect, as well as opportunities where things can be leveraged. I’m treating this as my atlas to the inner workings of the cities I visit.
